Collection: Cuddly×Kurume Kasuri
Kurume Kasuri is a traditional cotton fabric that has been produced in the Chikugo region for over 200 years and is one of Japan's most representative fabrics.
It is produced using complex and highly advanced traditional techniques in which the threads are tied, dyed, and the patterns are created by leaving the tied parts undyed.
Among these, hand-woven kasuri, which can only be produced in small quantities each year using techniques such as indigo dyeing, hand tying, and hand weaving with a throwing shuttle, was designated an Intangible Cultural Property in 1957.
In addition, many of the Kurume Kasuri patterns used in this product, which are made using power looms, were designated as "Traditional Crafts Designated by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry in 1976. " It is a very valuable fabric that takes two to four months to complete.
"I want to connect the skills of Japanese stuffed animal craftsmen and Kasuri craftsmen, and convey the greatness of both."
With this idea in mind, products using Kurume Kasuri were born.
